Filtering SPAM

In December of 2007, Planet Argon began adding spam filtering to it’s servers. This process happens on the server and tags possible spam emails before it gets to your Inbox. This process doesn’t automatically delete flagged emails. The following tutorials will help you filter these emails out of your Inbox in various mail clients.

Mail.app

In Mail.app, you can add a new rule by following these instructions.

1. Navigate to Mail > Preferences

2. Click on the Rules tab in the Preferences menu

3. Click on Add a new rule

4. Click on header drop down list, select Edit Header List

5. Add X-Spam-Status to the list of headers.

6. Add filter with X-Spam-Status contains Yes.

7. Select where you want the filtered email to go.

8. Voila!

Thunderbird

In Thunderbird on a Mac, you can add a new rule by following these instructions.

1. Navigate to Tools → Message Filters

2. Click on New to add a new rule

3. Click on first drop down, select Customize

4. Add X-Spam-Status to the list of headers.

5. Add filter with X-Spam-Status contains Yes.

6. Select where you want the filtered email to go.

7. Name your filter

8. Voila!
